Week 1 Results

I made it through the first week of Insanity! I was a little discouraged because the scale has not moved... at all! So I asked Joseph to help me take my measurements. I am very pleased with the results! So far I have lost 1.25 inches around my waist, 2.5 inches around my upper thigh, and .75 inches around my upper arms! I'm so glad I took the measurements because this is totally giving me the motivation to keep going. These workout routines are totally intense! You do tons of jumping, a billion push ups and a zillion squats! (no exaggeration there!) I don't think I've ever sweated as hard much as I do during these workouts. I really like them a lot though! I recommend the Insanity workout to anyone who is serious about getting into an intense workout routine.

Weight Loss Contest and Other Exciting News

Joseph and I finally made our plans for Christmas! I know that you are probably thinking... it's only July. Yes, but let's remember who is writing this post. I am a planner. I like to know what's happening in advance. Joseph's family (and I mean entire family.. 31 people to be exact) is going to Disney World for Christmas! Unfortunately, we didn't think we could make it to DW this year because I really wanted to go to Boston to see my family since the last time we saw them was at the wedding. Also, it would be extremely expensive for us to fly to Orlando, pay for the hotel, park hopper tickets, AND food. And then fly to Boston and then back to Phoenix. So we decided we couldn't make it. But then, Joseph's parents made us a deal that we couldn't pass up! So from December 19th - 22nd we'll be in Orlando and then from the 22nd - 27th we'll be in Boston. It's going to be so much fun!

To get ready for Disney World, Joseph's family decided to do a weight loss challenge and I joined. I actually started my work out program and "diet" the week before I found out about the challenge. I'm not really doing a diet anymore. I would like to think of it as I am learning to eat healthy again. So far it's working... slowly, but it's working. I've lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks. Not too bad :)

For this weight loss challenge, I decided to try the Insanity workout
Today was Day 1: the fitness test. Shaun T runs you through some intense moves and you count how many you can do in a minute. Sounds easy, right? WRONG! Super hard. I was dripping sweat. I'm excited though. I really hope this helps me get in shape! Wish me luck!

Despicable Me

Joseph and I went to see Despicable me last night. We had only seen a few previews in the theater, but we thought that since Steve Carrell was in it, that we should go see it. I'm really glad we went! It was so funny! I laughed almost the entire movie. After that movie, I decided that I need 2 things. First, I need some minions:
These little guys were so cute and funny. For some reason I think it's really funny when people/characters get hurt in movies. These guys fulfilled that for me. So hilarious!

Next, I need a little girl that will sing about how much she loves unicorns:

Seriously! How cute is that face?!

All during the movie, I kept thinking that this character looked like someone I knew...

Then I figured it out. If you've seen The Big Bang Theory, then you will be familiar with the character Howard Wolowitz:
The movie character, Vector, even gave off the same creepy aura that Howard gives off.

All in all, we give the movie a 2 thumbs up!
