San Antonio Baby!

We're MOVING!!! Joseph was offered a job at Rackspace as a Security Engineer. He will have a pretty similar job description to what he was doing at Apollo Group. This all happened very fast! The air conditioning went out in Joseph's truck and was going to cost $1300 to get it fixed. We decided that we needed to make more $$$ to survive. Air conditioning is a necessity in Arizona. Joseph went to talk to his director to see how raises were going to look at his annual review. The director let him know that they weren't looking good based on the company being down for the 3rd quarter in a row. He suggested that if Joseph needed to make more money that he should start looking for a new job. This wasn't a threat by any means, he was just being straight forward with him.

So, the next couple of days Joseph and I looked for jobs, worked on his resume and cover letter, and reached out to a few friends in Texas for some possible networking opportunities (you may have received an email from me :) ). When Joseph was 14 years old he started working at an internet company called Go Quest. When he left, his boss, Chris, told him to contact him if he ever needed a job. Well, 12 years later he called on that favor. Joseph looked Chris up on Facebook and found out he was the manager of a Security Operations Center which is the exact department that Joseph works in now! He sent him an email and found out they had 2 positions open. The next day the two talked on the phone for an unofficial interview. The day after that he talked on the phone with their HR rep, the day after that she called back to schedule a flight for one week later. They paid for Joseph to fly out to San Antonio for an interview. By 7pm that night we knew he had the job! Chris sent him a text saying he got it and he should be getting the official offer within the next few days. That came in on Thursday of last week and found out Joseph will be starting on July 9th! So we are leaving either Monday July 2nd or Tuesday July 3rd! SO crazy! One of the best things is that they are sending someone out here to pack up our stuff and drive it down.

I have a lot of stress in my stomach about this whole thing, but everything is working out perfectly and we know it's the right thing to do.

I've been doing a lot of research about San Antonio and it looks like a super fun city! I want to go to:
The Riverwalk. Doesn't it look like so much fun?! I've been told there are lots of restaurants, you can get a boat ride, and it's just fun to walk around.

The Alamo

SeaWorld! Only one of my favorite places in the world! Now I'll only live 45 minutes away!

And there's so much more! Like I said, I'm pretty nervous about the move down there but that's mostly the logistics of it all.

We found out yesterday that Joseph's director quit as well so it seems that Joseph is getting out of there at just the right time. Also, we had to own our house for 3 years because we received the first time home owner's credit. Well, that is up at the end of July! Rackspace is providing us with a realtor to sell our house. They are supposed to give us updates of how they are listing our house, how many people are coming to see it and all that jazz. Everything is all working out for us. Today we'll decide exactly which day we are going to drive down there.

Wish us luck on our new adventure!

Picture Overload

Nothing new has been going on with us but I thought I would post some pictures. Recently Adelyn has started grabbing at things. She grabs the rattle from my hands and grabs on to her toys. She is also doing a great job at holding up her head!

Sammy loves his sister!

3 Months Old

So WOW. I can't believe my sweet little girl is already 3 months old! This past month I quit 2, that's right, 2 jobs. I decided I couldn't be away from my baby girl so I left my job of 4 and a half years at University of Phoenix to be a stay at home mom. Then I found a work from home job transcribing audio files but that turned out to be more stressful than staying at UOP so I decided to leave that job too. For now we decided my job is going to be to take care of Adelyn, make sure Joseph has food to take to work everyday, and keep the house clean. And if it comes down to me needing a job, then I'll do it. But for now we think we can make it work on one income.

Getting ready to fight!

This is how my baby would look if she were a super chunk... or just through the eyes of a fish :) (Fun camera setting)
Adelyn is becoming so much more interactive. She hardly ever looks at the window blinds anymore. Morning time after her first feeding is always the best. That's when she is completely happy. She gives us smiles and tons of coo's. We love it!
Happy Baby!

The otherday she taught herself how to blow raspberries with her tongue so she's been doing that more than coo'ing. That same day was a big day. In the morning she gave me a little laugh, then a few hours later she was sitting in my lap and sat straight up on her own, and then finally later on is when she started blowing raspberries.

She is getting so strong! When she stretches out her neck she almost always raises her eyebrows. Joseph calls it her turtle face. It's so cute!!

She really loves laying on her mat and playing with her "toys". That's what we call them. She can spend at least a half hour on the floor playing before she starts fussing to say she's done.
